From Maternity to Milestones
About eight months after their maternity session, I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful family again—this time with their little boy in their arms!
This family photoshoot took place at the Faerie Glen Nature Reserve in Pretoria. The reserve offers a variety of beautiful backdrops: dirt roads, tall grass fields and a lovely hill in the background.
This little guy was an absolute delight to photograph. I typically start my family photo sessions with a few guided and posed portraits to make sure we capture those classic family images. Once we’ve got those, it’s time to relax, play, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. That’s when the real magic happens and we capture the authentic moments that tell your family’s story.
In my experience, around eight months is one of the best ages for baby photos. Babies at this stage are full of personality, love interacting with their parents, and are usually quick to smile and laugh. They can often sit independently but aren’t quite on the move yet, making photos much easier!
